Below are a few hints and tips that may help you in writing your next ad!
1. Use a compelling headline. Select the main benefit of your merchandise and use it to create a prominent, descriptive headline. Use popular keywords whenever possible. 2. Include photos. Nothing helps more in a classified ad than pictures. Telling someone what your selling is one thing, but showing them a visual of the product gives you an added advantage and may drastically increase interest. As the saying goes, a picture is worth 1,000 words. 3. Provide a clear, concise description. In addition to an image, your ad description should provide the reader with as much detail as possible. In addition to any information specific to your item, some elements that classified ads should include are: price, make or model, size, color, age or whether it is new, used or reconditioned, service or warranty, and finally all possible ways you can be contacted. Be sure to use complete sentences rather than short phrases or random words, and use abbreviations as little as possible. 4. Use spell check. This is probably one of the most frequently ignored steps people forget to do when preparing an ad. After your ad is written, take a few moments to review it and check for misspelled words or grammatical errors. 5. Provide payment and delivery options. Will you ship your item? If so, what will the shipping costs be? What forms of payment would you accept? Providing this information lets buyers know their options up front. |
